WLD London Day
Why should you join the Women Liberal Democrats?

Because women still do not have an equal voice in Parliament, in our local Councils, nor in the Liberal Democrat Party itself. We are changing this by:

  • Organising seminars, fringe meetings, workshops and training sessions
  • Encouraging women to become and remain active members of the party
  • Supporting women candidates at national and local level
  • Putting forward Policy Motions to Conference
  • Campaigning on issues which affect women's lives

Following the success of the 2011 London Day we have decided to run a similar day this year. The day will include guided tours to the House of Commons and the House of Lords, talks at Lib Dem HQ and lunch with a number of Lib Dem speakers.

Last year Deputy Chief Whip Alistair Carmichael MP gave a talk to us in a committee room in the commons, Lorely Burt MP, Vicki Booth (Diversity Officer) and Henk Van Klaveren (Press Officer) joined us for lunch and we enjoyed an evening reception with Lynne Featherstone MP - we hope to have equally excellent Lib Dems joining us this year too.
