Theme for Spring conference announced

February 1, 2007 5:46 PM

WLD have announced their theme for the Harrogate Spring conference, 2nd-4th March.

WLD's Fringe Event will take place on Saturday 3rd March between 1 and 2pm. The theme will be 'Women Against Fundamentalism', with guest speakers Lynne Ravenscroft from Women Against Fundamentalism and for Equality (WAFE) and Lorely Burt MP, Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Women and Equality. A third speaker will be announced shortly.

The fringe event promises to provide a provocative and lively debate at a time when the subject is very much part of the public conscience.

The theme for the WLD stand will be childcare; we will be looking at what can be done for parents to improve their work-life-balance and what practical policy changes issues could be addressed.

WLD will be celebrating the 120th anniversary of the Women's Liberal Federation throughout the year, and this is another thing to look out for at conference!

We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible, if you have any questions please contact the WLD office or email women@libdems.org.uk.
